RackInspect: inspection in a single step

Voice-controlled smart glasses and AI image analysis for Zenit Kft.'s racking inspections: documentation is completed during the survey

A dark warehouse aisle with tall racking; one upright of the left-hand rack is dented at knee height, and the damaged section is framed by a thin, glowing orange rectangle.

Background of the cooperation

Zenit Kft. carries out mandatory inspections of warehouse racking systems in compliance with the MSZ EN 15635 standard. Racking must be inspected at least once every 12 months. Inspections take place at many sites; the difficulty is proving them afterwards: when the inspection happened, who performed it, what was found and exactly where the fault was. For Zenit Kft., BlackBelt developed a system that records inspections consistently and retrievably.

The solution

RackInspect works with voice-controlled industrial smart glasses: the inspector moves through the warehouse hands-free and simply says what they see. The system captures the image, interprets the speech and creates structured data in real time. The location is identified by facility and warehouse, then by row, level and position; next come the fault type, its risk and the required intervention. From this, the fault register is created immediately, with visual documentation.

The technology

Artificial intelligence uses image analysis to recognise the components of the racking system and pinpoint the exact location of each fault. From the captured data, the system immediately produces inspection reports and compliance documents, with no separate step and no assembling afterwards. Multiple warehouses can be managed on a single central interface, making not just individual inspections but the entire operation transparent.

Results

Documentation is created together with the recording: by the time the survey ends, it is practically complete. No note-taking, no separate data entry. With RackInspect, documentation errors can drop by up to 60% and the maintenance process can be up to 35% faster. In Zenit Kft.'s inspection service, paper-based, hard-to-follow PDFs are replaced by an instant digital inspection report and an itemised fault list.
