Two projects in 2020: ADAS image sensor development in .NET and an AMS prototype with Mendix support

A yellow industrial robot arm assembles an engine block on a car factory production line; in the foreground an engineer in a hard hat follows production data on a tablet, while a colleague works beside a car body in the background.

Background of the cooperation

Our Mendix partnership brought the first project with Continental: the manufacturing-support Autonomous Mobility and Safety (AMS) prototype needed low-code consulting. This opened the second opportunity at the ADAS development centre, where a running artificial intelligence project was short of resources.

The task

In the ADAS project we took part in developing an artificial intelligence software whose goal is to install image sensors in vehicles that reliably recognise the typical objects on the road – signs, vehicles, people.

In the AMS prototype project we provided Mendix low-code support for the manufacturing-support solution.

The team and the result

An architect worked on the Mendix track and a senior .NET developer on the ADAS track within Continental's team, on a T&M basis. The team of product owner, UX designer, backend and frontend developers successfully delivered the MVP in 4 months.

Two results of the cooperation: Mendix knowledge transfer to Continental's team, and covering the missing resources at the development centre.

The key to adopting AI is not the technology but the decision

    Wolf András

    Founding owner

The lesson of the German–Hungarian Business Day panel discussion: the AI tools and the ideas are already there; whether adoption succeeds depends on who sets the direction and the entry points, and what the organisation consciously leaves for later.
